World Cup injury scare for Liverpool’s Holland winger Ryan Babel

• Babel injures right hamstring in training
• Winger endured difficult season at Anfield

Ryan Babel’s World Cup could be in doubt after the Holland winger injured his right hamstring while training in Austria.

There was no immediate word on the seriousness of the Liverpool forward’s injury, which was reported by the Dutch media attending the session in Austria.

Babel missed the 2008 European Championship after tearing ankle ligaments on the eve of that tournament and has endured a difficult season at Anfield.

Holland, twice World Cup runners-up, will begin their 2010 campaign on 14 June against Denmark in Johannesburg.
